Thursday night we found a babysitter to watch Kaitlyn so we could take Lydia to a movie. When I asked Lydia what movie she wanted to see, she choose "Aliens in the Attic". This surprised me. For years now Lydia has told us about how scared she is of aliens. She won't even watch "E.T." because he is "creepy". But it was her choice so we agreed. As we were driving out of the neighborhood, we saw Lydia's friend Jenna outside her house with her parents. Jenna was thrilled to see Lydia and so we invited Jenna to come along to the movie with us. The girls giggled all through the movie. It was a lot of fun. And as usual, Lydia and Jenna devised a plan to have a sleep over. We told the girls that they couldn't that night but could on Friday. After the movie we stopped at Maggie Moos for some ice cream.
Lydia and Jenna were inseparable on Friday. They played all day long, and as promised, they had their slumber party that night. Once again we were subjected to a night of giggles coming from downstairs.
On Saturday we decided to take the girls swimming. This was going to be Kaitlyn's first time at the pool. We loaded up the car, coated the girls with sunscreen, and went to the pool down the street. While Lydia and Jenna channeled their inner fish and dove right in, Kaitlyn had a hard time. She really didn't want to play in the water. We don't know if it was the crowd, the noise or just a general fear of water, but she didn't want anything to do with it. But, as time passed, she started warming up to it. There is even a little kids fountain area that she loved. I was even able to take a short video of Kaitlyn playing in the middle of a small fountain.
We also have a couple of photos from the adventure.
