Kaitlyn is 10 Months old

Yes, the time has come again. Kaitlyn turned 10 months yesterday. She is getting so big. Quick too. Her crawl has actually become normal. No more hop, skip, scoot. She is now 20 pounds, and 29 3/4 inches. I have started planning for her First Birthday. I know It's still 2 months away and she won't remember it, but I still want it to be fun. :) There are not a lot of updates this month. Aside from growing and learning more there isn't much going on.
  1. She got her first 2 teeth. front bottom
  2. Her hair is getting longer and even curling in the back.
  3. She now throws fits. Full blown screaming fits. Tears and all.
  4. She is understanding more when we talk to her.
  5. She is going through the "I only want Mommy only" stage. No matter who we are around family or strangers she doesn't want anyone to hold her.
  6. She is getting more of a personality everyday.
  7. She cries when I leave her at daycare or anywhere. It breaks my heart.

Until next month! 2 more monthly updates to go. Here are the Teddy pictures

Snow SUCKS!!!

I love the snow and the cold weather.  Winter in Denver has been very mild this year.  Hardly any snow has fallen which is quite depressing to me as I love to see snow blanket the yard every winter.  In fact this year has been one of the driest winter seasons on record.  So imagine my excitement when an actual winter storm was predicted to hit this weekend with anywhere from 1-3 feet in the forecast.  Well the weather man actually got this one right and it's been snowing since yesterday morning.

Excited to actually use my snow blower for the first time this year, I headed outside to clear my driveway.  She started right up with one pull and we were off.  Now this snow we're getting is a very wet and heavy snow so I knew that I would have to go slow as to not clog up the snow blower.  I headed down the driveway and cleared the first row with no problems.  And as I started down to start the second row the engine made a very strange sound and then BAM!  Something blew out of the side of the snow blower and the engine stopped.  I wheeled it back into the garage to see what happened when I discovered that I blew the entire engine block.  There is a gaping hole in the side of the engine casing.  My first thought was that there was no oil, but that wasn't it.  I guess it was just time.  She just couldn't give me anymore.
Disheartened, I pulled out the snow shovel for some old school snow removal.  I cleared a bit more snow from the driveway when BAM!  The handle of my snow shovel snapped.  Apparently the snow gods do not want my driveway cleared today.
Needless to say I have officially given up and will wait for the snow to melt.  It's supposed to be 70 degrees on Monday.  But until then this is how my driveway looks.
SNOW SUCKS!!!

Easter 2009

This last weekend we drove out to Utah for Lydia's spring break and Easter. We had a great time visiting family and friends. We drove out on Wednesday night due to weather issues. We arrived at 3:00 am. We picked up Lydia on Thursday.  The Jared and the boys watched the kids and his sisters, mom, and I had a girls night. We went over to Jared's sister, Angela's house and watched Twilight. Friday night we had dinner at an old friend of Jared's from high school. It was a lot of fun. We had a great meal with wonderful conversation.

Saturday, we had great brunch an Easter egg hunt with all the grandkids. The kids had a blast. We could hardly get pictures of the older kids as they flew around the yard. The little kids had the adults help and even some of the older kids helped. They were too cute! That afternoon a few of us took the older girls to see the Hannah Montana movie. It was actually pretty good. Lydia and Maddie loved it. they were singing the songs the rest of the weekend. On Sunday, we had a wonderful dinner and roasted peeps over the fire pit. That's right I said peeps, and they were fabulous! Here are a few pictures of the weekend.

Kaitlyn’s New Car

We went to the car show today and Kaitlyn chose her first car. She has really good taste if I do say so myself. She chose a Cherry Red Corvette Convertible. I was jealous she got to sit in it and I didn't. She does look pretty cute in it though. I think red is her color, what do you think.

Kaitlyn is 9 months old.

Yes, another month has flown by. Kaitlyn is 9 months old today. She actually lost some weight this month with all of her crawling around. She is 19 pounds and still 29 inches long. Here are a few updates for you:
  1. She started saying mama and dada. Mama came first then dada but she is working on daddy now. She also says gaga a lot. She likes to talk to herself. It's cute to hear her jiberish.
  2. She is VERY curious about everything. She loves to explore and get into everything. Especially everything she is not supposed to.
  3. She has learned she can move things to get what she wants. Jared and I have some cords and wires that are behind the end table in the family room. Kaitlyn started playing with them a lot we couldn't hide them from her so we made a little blockade of boxes and suitcases to stop her from trying to eat them. Unfortunately, we have a very smart little girl. She learned  that she can step on them to go over the boxes or simply push and pull them out of her way. It is a constant battle to try and find new ways to keep her out of things.
  4. She is learning the meaning of "no" and she does NOT like it. When we tell her no and she keeps after something we sit there with her and continue t say no and pull her hand away so she knows. The first time or  2 she is fine and keeps trying, when it keeps happening and she realizes she's not going to get what she wants, she sits down and starts crying after a minute or 2 she goes after something else. But her little fits seem to get more frequent and she doesn't like the fact that we don't give in. She'll learn :)
  5. Still working on the teeth. Still no progress.
  6. She claps her hands a lot and will even grab our hands and make our hands clap like we used to do with her. She finds it very funny that she can make us clap.
  7.  She is walking really well with help from us or her little walker and getting fast. She drags us everywhere.
  8. She has started trying to stand and let go of whatever she is holding onto. She does this without thinking about it but when she realizes what she's doing she sits down really quickly.
  9. She is getting more friends. She now has 4-5 other babies that she plays with. she still needs to work on sharing. She tries to grab every toy no matter whose it is. We are working on that, the hard part is the minute we take the toy back and give it to the other baby, that baby stops playing with it or hands it to Kaitlyn. She's quite popular.
That is pretty much it for this month. As always I will finish with the Teddy pictures.
