Labor Day.

This weekend we had Lydia out. It was such a treat to have her 2 weekends in a row. We just adore being able to see her. Sadly, we missed our usual week to 2 week long summer visit with her this year. She played with her friend, Jenna and came with us to a friend's wedding.  She even changed her first diaper by her request. Our friends and co-workers loved meeting Lydia and Kaitlyn. It was great. As always, we were sad to see her leave on Monday.

Bear Lake Trip

One of the other reasons we went to Utah was for a trip to Bear Lake with Jared's family. We had so much fun. We rented a large cabin for everyone to stay in. The adults with babies got the rooms and the kids got to have a slumber party in the loft. The cabin had an incredible view of the lake (you can see it in the pictures below). Unfortunately, Jared kept the camera so we don't have pictures with him... the stinker!

We rode on Jared's brother Scott's ATV, rented jet skies and a boat. We had a blast taking turns tubing, water skiing, wake boarding, and jet skiing. Lydia had a blast riding the ATV and jet ski with her dad. She also had fun tubing.

It was also, Kaitlyn's first trip to the "beach". It's not the ocean but we need to take baby steps. She'll get to see the ocean beach in December.

Here are a few more pictures of the trip:

Meeting the Grandmas

While we were in Utah, we went to visit the Grandmas. The grandmas loved seeing the 2 girls. Unfortunately, they do not get to see Lydia as often as they would like. Lydia was very patient and polite. I know she was pretty bored but it meant a lot to the grandmas that she was there.

The Grandmas also got to see Kaitlyn for the first time. She got a bit cranky towards the end but after a plane ride, car ride lack of sleep and eating you can't blame her for not being as social as normal.  Here are a few pics.

It was great to see them. I can't wait for my grandpa to meet her too.

Sisters

Kaitlyn and Lydia have already started bonding.

We flew out to Utah this last weekend and Lydia got to meet her new baby sister. I think they really liked each other. All weekend Lydia wanted to hold and feed Kaitlyn. There were a few times Kaitlyn was a bit fussy but when her big sister wanted to hold her she quieted right down. It was so much fun to see them together!

There were a few funny moments. One was when Lydia was feeding Kaitlyn and Kaitlyn decided it was a perfect time to take a dump and stared grunting up a storm, turning red and purple and getting rumbles in her pants it was about that time that Lydia said, "I think I'm done feeding her. Can you take her?" I had to laugh.

Another time that I needed to change Kaitlyn's diaper and Lydia had been saying that she wanted to learn how, so I asked her if she wanted to help me. She came into the room. I took off her diaper and Kaitlyn had made one of the nastiest and smelliest diapers she has ever had. Lydia plugged her nose and said, "It makes me want to throw up, is it okay if I go back up stairs?" Again, I chuckled. I can't blame her, I would have left too if I could have. Next time, I'm handing her off to Daddy :). I just hope it didn't ruin the whole diaper changing experience for Lydia.

Lydia, I promise they are not all that bad. Next time, we'll work on a wet one :) Can't wait to see you again this weekend!

Here are a few more pictures of the 2 girls.

Airport fun

We've made it past security and we're off to Salt Lake for the rest of
the week. Kaitlyn gets to meet her big sister Lydia for the first
time. The best part is that Lydia has already volunteered to get up to
feed and change Kate in the middle of the night. We get a break! WOO
HOO!
