We decided to take a little vacation since we have not had one in almost a year and a half. We were hoping to take both girls with us but unfortunately Lydia had school so we could not take her with us. This trip was such an amazing deal, with my lay off we could not afford to do anything else and this cruise only happens once a year.
We flew out to LA where we caught the cruise ship. We had 2 days at sea. It was great to relax and just have some time away from phones, computers, email, TV... everything. We were even able to get Kaitlyn's crib in the closet area so we couldn't disturb her and we could still talk.
The only thing that I wish we could have done was let Kaitlyn swim in the pool. But the cruise rules would not allow her to go in the pool even with a swim diaper. So we sat by the inside pool (they had an inside and outside) since it was a little chilly being over the Pacific.
We had an entire day in Victoria, B.C. on Mother's day. We went to the Butchart Gardens, It was incredible. I don't think Kaitlyn found it so amazing though since she slept through half of it. After that we walked around Victoria until it started raining then we went back to the ship.
The next day we disembarked in Vancouver. We got a last minute opportunity to get into Seattle earlier so we snagged it. We took a shuttle down to Seattle. When we got there we surprised my aunt Terri and uncle Lee at their clinic. When they got off work we met up with my Aunt Peggy and we all went to dinner.
The next day we spent a wonderful sunny day in Seattle with Terri, Lee Shannon, and Landon (my cousins happened to be in town from San Diego) at Pike's Place Market with lunch in the park. We went tea tasting at a great little tea shop. Then my brother Sean got off work and met with us. After that we all met back at Terri's house. My aunt Kitty flew in for work and joined us for dinner. Grandpa came by too. It was so much fun. Kaitlyn kept chasing the cats around. After dinner, Grandpa took Jared and I out to see his plane. Jared hadn't been able to see it before. It was fun listening to Grandpa and Jared talk in airplanese.
The following day we met with a high school friend of Jared's, Roger, for coffee. He was a great guy and it was nice to finally meet another friend of Jared's. After that we went to the airport and Terri and Lee came to see us (or at least Kaitlyn) off :)
Overall, the trip was fantastic.

Josh and I took that same cruise 7 years ago- sadly, that's been our last vacation other than Moab. 1 1/2 years doesn't sound all that back to me ;) Glad you had fun!
What a fun trip! I am in need of a vacation!
